DayZ Badlands launches with update 1.30 and a full wipe
Bohemia Interactive released DayZ Badlands on October 15, 2026, alongside global update 1.30. The launch wiped servers on PC, Xbox and PlayStation, removing stored loot and bases before players entered the new content.
Nasdara adds a 267-square-kilometre desert to DayZ
Badlands introduces Nasdara, a dry province covering 267 square kilometres along the western edge of Takistan. It is the largest official territory in DayZ so far, and its development used four times more unique assets than last year's snowy DayZ Frostline expansion.
Nasdara replaces familiar forests and wetlands with hot spring weather, abandoned Middle Eastern cities, Soviet military bases and ruined oil infrastructure. Players face heatstroke, silicosis from dust storms and severe water shortages, with surviving wells and cisterns serving as important water sources.
Jana and Enduro bring one-seat motorcycles to the map
DayZ adds two types of two-wheeled transport for the first time: the Jana moped, based on the Czechoslovak Jawa 50/05, and the Enduro sports motorcycle, inspired by the Jawa 500 682 Bitrak. Both carry one person, have no storage compartment and require a blowtorch for repairs.
The bikes use leaning physics during turns, while crashes and high-speed falls can trigger restored ragdoll animations. That makes motorcycles a fast way to cross Nasdara, but the one-seat design and lack of cargo space limit their usefulness for moving supplies.
Around 5,000 ruined houses can become shelters
Nasdara contains around 5,000 ruined stone and adobe houses that players can repair partly or completely. Construction options include brickwork for breaches, doors, and boarded or metal-covered windows. The update also adds an official combination lock powered by a 9-volt battery, with protection against repeated guessing.
Portable radios can receive Morse code signals that transmit coordinates for secret underground bunkers. The new locations therefore connect exploration, communications and base construction across the 267-square-kilometre province.
New firearms, blades and desert threats expand the survival loop
The new weapons include the .308 SCR-17 assault rifle, the 7.62x54 mm Lee-Enfield, the MP-18 submachine gun and the Luger P08 pistol. Close-range combat gains scimitars, jambiya daggers and Scythian akinakes, while infected enemies receive new heavy running attacks.
Nasdara also contains wild mouflons, grey monitor lizards, and Dobermans and German Shepherds guarding military bases alongside infected enemies. However, the October 15 launch has brought reports of official-server queues exceeding 100 players, disconnects, crashes before entering the world and temperature problems that can kill characters despite non-critical indicators.
The full wipe makes October 15 a fresh starting point
For players choosing a server tonight, the wipe removes established bases and loot across all three platforms, while Badlands adds the largest map, motorcycles and repairable homes in the same release. The new start favors groups prepared to secure water, test the temperature system and compete for shelter before the busiest servers settle.
